Where Oil Ends, Water Begins
Single-origin and bottled with minimal intervention — no alcohol, no synthetic fragrance, no dilution. Just the plant's own distilled water.
Pure, and Nothing But
A hydrosol is the pure aromatic water captured during steam distillation — the same process that makes our essential oils, bottled with nothing added.
A Spritz for Any Moment
Mist onto clean skin after cleansing and before your oils and serums, or over face, body and linens whenever you want a fresh, hydrating reset.
What exactly is a hydrosol, and how is it different from a regular face mist or toner?
A hydrosol is the pure aromatic water produced during steam distillation — the same process that creates our essential oils. As steam passes through the fresh botanicals, it carries their water-soluble compounds into a distillate that we bottle with minimal intervention. Unlike most facial mists or toners, which are usually a water base with added fragrance, humectants, or alcohol, a true hydrosol is an authentic single-origin distillate. It's one of the purest and most traditional expressions of the plant.
Are Delune hydrosols pure, or do they contain alcohol, synthetic fragrance, or fillers?
They're single-origin and bottled with minimal intervention — uncut, undiluted, and free from alcohol, synthetic fragrance, and artificial color. What you spray is the plant's own distilled water, carrying its natural water-soluble aromatics and trace botanical compounds. Nothing is added to stretch, mask, or "improve" the distillate.
How do I use a hydrosol in my skincare routine?
Hydrosols are wonderfully versatile. Mist over clean skin after cleansing and before your serums and oils to add a layer of lightweight botanical freshness, or spritz any time of day for a quick, hydrating reset. They're also lovely on the body, over linens, or throughout your daily rituals. There's no wrong moment — use them whenever you'd like a fresh, aromatic lift.
Are hydrosols gentle enough for sensitive skin?
Hydrosols are among the gentlest botanical preparations, which is part of why they're so loved. That said, every skin is different, so we always recommend a quick patch test on a small area before first use, especially if your skin is highly reactive. Use on unbroken skin and avoid direct contact with the eyes.
How should I store my hydrosol, and how long will it last?
Because our hydrosols are pure and minimally processed, treat them a little like a fresh product: keep the bottle sealed, out of direct sunlight, and somewhere cool. Many people love keeping theirs in the fridge for an extra-refreshing, cooling mist. Use within the period indicated on your bottle to enjoy it at its freshest and most aromatic.
