The Delune Mask Ritual

A make-it-yourself mask ritual: pure mineral clays, mixed with water or a hydrosol, applied with the fan brush, and dialled up with the AHA solution when you want more. You control the texture, the strength and the moment.

You Set the Strength

Use the clays gently as they are, or activate them with the AHA Mask Activation Solution — applied smoothly with the fan brush — for a deeper resurfacing treatment. One ritual, every intensity.

How do I mix and use a Delune clay mask?

It's simple, and part of the ritual. Add a little of the dry clay to a small bowl, then mix in water or one of our hydrosols a few drops at a time until you have a smooth, spreadable paste. Apply an even layer to clean skin with the fan brush or your fingertips, avoiding the eye area. Let it sit for around 5–10 minutes — you don't need to let it fully dry and crack — then rinse with warm water and follow with your serum or oil.

Should I mix my clay with water or a hydrosol?

Either works beautifully. Water gives you a clean, straightforward mineral mask. Mixing with one of our single-origin hydrosols adds an extra layer of botanical character — rose for softness, witch hazel for a clarifying feel, and so on. It's entirely up to you and how your skin feels that day.

How often can I use a clay mask, and is it right for my skin type?

For most skin, once or twice a week is a lovely rhythm. If your skin is on the drier or more sensitive side, start with once a week, keep the mask on for less time, and always follow with a hydrating serum or oil. As with any new product, patch test first and use only on unbroken skin.

What does the AHA Mask Activation Solution do?

It lets you turn any of the clays from a gentle mineral mask into a deeper resurfacing treatment. Instead of mixing with water or hydrosol, you activate the clay with the AHA solution for extra smoothing and polish. Because AHAs can make skin more sensitive to sunlight, apply SPF the following day, always patch test first, and avoid using it alongside other strong active ingredients on the same day.

Why do I mix it myself instead of buying a ready-made mask?

Mixing fresh each time means no water sitting in the jar — which means no need for the preservatives, stabilizers, and fillers that pre-blended wet masks rely on. You get pure mineral clay at full potency, made to exactly the strength and texture you want, the moment you want it.

Will a clay mask dry out my skin?

Clay naturally draws out excess oil and impurities, so the trick is not to leave it on until it's tight and fully cracked. Rinse while it's still slightly tacky, then follow with a hydrating mist, serum, or facial oil to keep skin comfortable and balanced.
